President Donald Trump announced Tuesday evening that a ceasefire agreement has been reached between the United States and Iran.
The agreement will end all hostilities by both sides and will include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, allowing needed petroleum and petroleum products to reach countries that require them.
The ceasefire will give both sides time to put the final touches on a 10-point peace proposal brokered by Pakistan.
Trump called the ceasefire a “double-sided ceasefire,” likely meaning that Iran has agreed to stop attacking ships in the strait and the United States has agreed not to bomb them back to the Stone Age.
