The Left has found an alternative to the old-fashioned rose-colored glasses of optimism. The new version is the smokey-gray colored glasses of cynicism and pure hatred. This new relationship phase has come about with the ever-widening divide between the Left and Right, and it goes far beyond the tongue-in-cheek chatter about Trump Derangement Syndrome. TDS started as a joke or meme, then evolved into a realistic description of how the Left responded negatively to virtually anything that emanated from Donald Trump or his administration. TDS has been replaced with possibly the worst and most destructive human emotion: hatred. There are only two instances that I can point to that stoop to the depth of hatred (not counting my thoughts on Brussels sprouts), and they are the feelings towards people of the Western World by radical Islamic zealots, and the feelings of Democrats towards anyone with beliefs to the Right of center. One instance has created the longest-running assault on a segment of the world’s population and a determination to annihilate it, and the second has become an inability to process individual thoughts, instead relying on quick, erratic, negative reactions to opposing viewpoints. It has also resulted in the sad desire to harm the opposition, which has become tragic shootings and killings, including multiple assassination attempts against President Donald Trump.
This hatred has manifested into a political environment and divide in America, where debate and compromise no longer exist. The term bipartisan has no meaning, and anyone who breaks ranks with the Left is immediately targeted by the Party to be primaried in the next election cycle. A case in point is Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), who, some feel, is the only voice of reason on the Left. He has sided with the Right on subjects like a secure border or Voter ID, and has been totally ostracized by his Party to the extent that he is considering leaving the Party.
There is a very subtle, strategic game that Trump is currently playing which is having a significant impact on neutering our political foes, possibly for decades to come. The Left sees the action in Venezuela and now Iran as erratic and thoughtless acts by an unstable and impaired President. In fact, we are witnessing one of the greatest military and political moves of our lifetime that will reward us with years of a safer, more stable world.
Trump identified China as our biggest political and economic threat on Earth, and what is the number one thing a country needs to grow, prosper, and continue to bolster its military might? Energy! China is already putting online a new coal-fired electric generating plant every two weeks. Still, they are also one of the largest importers of oil and gas in the world, and where did they get those precious fuels? Venezuela and Iran. By taking out the two regimes in a matter of months. Trump has all but cut off oil and gas supplies to China. This has crippled their efforts to build a military to rival ours and to threaten the United States’ hold on the number one superpower spot. While Trump is playing worldclass chess to stymie the drug supply which is killing thousands of Americans, stopping the possibility of Iran becoming a nuclear power, and cutting off the flow of energy to China, the Left is playing Chinese checkers and threatening to impeach or jail Trump should they take back the Congress and/or exercise the 25th amendment and have Trump removed from office as mentally unfit. He is so fit that he is making Democrats’ heads spin as they try to keep up with this dynamo and freak of nature, who seemingly does not require sleep and who has unrivaled love for this great country. Trump has three years to complete his mission to Make America Great Again, and the priority now is to ensure victory in the midterms so the Democrats cannot slow the Trump machine.
