Information on the Upcoming K-8 Social Studies Standards Redesign

On September 9 to 12, at their next meeting, the State Board of Education (SBOE) will consider reworking the framework for Texas’ K-8 Social Studies Standards, known as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).

It is vital that our students learn history well, so the SBOE must adopt a framework for the Texas K-8 Social Studies TEKS that teaches the history of Texas, America, and the world comprehensively and engagingly.
