Just a few days after the anniversary of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, The New York Times is here with some thoughtful insight. Namely, that it’s their free speech right if Democrats want to celebrate murder and advocate more political violence.
Why, this is America, isn’t it?!
Writing in the Times on Tuesday, authors Matthew Purdy and Alan Feuer warned of the Trump administration’s “nearly exclusive crackdown on left-leaning organizations and activities,” which they described as a “pitched battle over political dissent and free speech.” Lest there be any doubt this was related to Kirk’s assassination by a psychotic leftist, the headline on the “analysis” piece was “How Trump Has Cracked Down on Dissent Since the Killing of Charlie Kirk.”
When a transgender-loving freak allegedly pulls out a gun in front of children in broad daylight to murder a man who was a husband and father of two, and was widely regarded as a political leader on the same level as presidents, the Times will call it “political dissent and free speech.” But only if the target is a right-winger. If it’s a leftist, then the foundation of democracy across the globe is threatened.
To wit, the Times piece quoted a Democrat woman in her 80s who, after joining an anti-ICE riot, wrote in her diary that “the threats to our democracy by this administration seem immediate and real and very personal.”
This is how they justify their sick fantasies and frequent bouts of violence. When they’re not celebrating the explicit harm and death brought onto their political opponents, they’re declaring in their diaries and on social media that the real threat is from Trump voters having an opinion.
After Kirk’s murder, TikTok was flooded with Democrats mocking the moment he was blasted in the neck with a rifle and glorifying the result. Someone who opposed their political positions was no longer a threat. That it happened in brutal fashion was a bonus they hadn’t expected but were more than happy to see.
