Empire Center for Public Policy, Inc. (Albany, NY) seeks Data Manager. Develop data strategy that enables the Empire Center to fully leverage relevant public and private data sets to enhance its research, public education and communication efforts. Responsible for research, data collection and analysis. Migrate raw data from original, typically public sources into searchable databases with user-friendly interfaces. Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, plan and execute Center initiatives in a manner that best utilizes available data resources. Create dynamic and usable data reports, and assist in identifying relationships and trends, or any other factors that could affect the results of research. Collaborate and/or communicate with external stakeholders, including policy analysts, researchers, journalists/reporters, and the general public.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in public policy, economics, or other quantitative social science, with a concentration in Data Analytics/Analysis, Statistics, or other closely related field. Two (2) years experience working with large, public data sets in a policy-oriented environment, to include managing and analyzing datasets and using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, and/or Access, as well as Tableau and/or ArcGIS for data analysis and visualization.
